INDONESIA Tour

Day 1

Transfer from your hotel or directly from the Airport to Ubud, the village famous for its artists and craftsmen. The rest of the day is at leisure - visit some of the artist’s galleries or simply give your eyes a treat gazing at the green terraced rice-fields all around you. Overnight in Ubud

Day 2

After breakfast, leave for the Candi Dasa area making lots of stops en route. Visit Bangli Village, Tampaksiring (natural mineral water springs), the holy temple at Besakih revered by all Balinese as the ‘mother temple’. Visit the old court house used during the time Bali was ruled by a King, and also stop at Kusumba - a fishermen’s village. After lunch at a hill-top restaurant with excellent views of the surrounding countryside, you should be reaching Candi Dasa on the east coast of Bali in the late afternoon. The remainder of the day is free - o/n in Candi Dasa

Day 3

Travel along the northern coastal road towards Lovina Beach, visiting a couple of villages on the way. A boxed lunch will be provided, since there are no suitable restaurants in this remote part of the island. Overnight at Lovina Beach.

Day 4

Today’s trip will take you to the Gitgit waterfalls (roughly an hour’s trek away from the main road) and the Beratan Lake in the center of Bali. Visit a few more temples, including one devoted to the Monkey God - which is of course located in the midst of a monkey forest ! Visit Tanah Lot & Mengwi, and finally return to Ubud in the early evening. Overnight in Ubud.

Day 5

After breakfast, your tour guide will be happy to take you on a walk through the rice-fields around Ubud, and apart from a marvelous photo opportunity you can also learn something about how Balinese farmers live. After lunch, tour the neighboring villages of Celuk (famous for its silver and goldsmiths) and Mas (famous for its wood carvers) - of course there will be ample opportunity to browse and shop. This evening you can see a traditional dance performance at a local theater (included in tour price). Overnight in Ubud

Day 6

After a leisurely breakfast, drive down to the bustling town of Denpasar - visit the local markets or just watch the crowds, before being transferred to the airport or back to another hotel in the Kuta or Nusa Dua areas.
